Keep catching a cold or virus towards the end of heavy intensity, high volume training blocks? Take a look through these images to see just how to support your body nutritionally at these times.

Making sure we are eating enough of the right types of foods, along with enough food in general, is so important to allow our immune system to continue functioning at its best. If the volume of training increases, increase the amount of energy you are taking in. Looking for good quality whole-foods that target the immune system will give you a fighting chance of warding of these colds and viruses that are so typically picked up towards the end of training. In some cases supplementing maybe a good idea.

Don't forget that adequate sleep and rest is essential for recovery and repair and without it our immune system will suffer.

Hopefully being more mindful at these times will see you fit and healthy all the way through to race day.
